Friends of Note
Founded in 1948 by Dorothy Goff Frisch at the suggestion of The Wisconsin Philharmonic’s first music director Milton Weber, the Friends of Note, or “auxiliary” as it was called, was created to “promote the welfare and very existence” of the newly formed orchestra.
The Friends of Note continue to support the work of The Wisconsin Philharmonic through tireless efforts to raise funding and awareness.
The Friends of Note plan several major fundraising events each season including the annual Ball and Garden Tour. Friends of Note are invaluable to The Wisconsin Philharmonic, encompassing all our volunteers who help with any of the following:
- Special Events: pre-planning and on-site for events
- Office/Clerical Work: mailings, filing, and special projects
- Concert Production/Box Office: ticket sales, will-call tickets, ushers
