Clinics by the Maestro
The Clinics by the Maestro were established to encourage high school string players to continue their music studies.
Wednesday, November 2, 2011, Wisconsin Philharmonic Music Director, Alexander Platt, visited four area high schools - Arrowhead, Brookfield East, New Berlin Eisenhower, and Oconomowoc - to conduct free clinics with the orchestra. During each 45 minute clinic, Platt conducts a piece that is currently being worked on in the classroom and provides feedback, including facts about the musical instruments and the history of orchestral compositions, while giving advice on proper playing techniques. It's a great opportunity for students to interact with a professional conductor while receiving valuable feedback for getting the most out of their instruments.
If you are interested in having your school participate in this program during the 2012-13 season, please check this page for updates as the new season approaches.
